Frequently Asked Questions
Who are the services on this site intended for?
The information and services on this site are designed for women and men, either single or in relationships, aged 18 years and over who are struggling with the decision of whether to have children or not. The services offered are non-discriminatory against gender, ethnicity, orientation or spirituality.
What is the payment process and is it safe and secure?
You can pay for the services by credit card or debit card (Visa, Mastercard or American Express) through the website's secure online payment gateway. Because your privacy & security is a priority the website's online payment gateway is provided by Stripe Payment Solutions and uses full 128-bit encryption supplied by RapidSSL. The website and the payment gateway are 100% Security Compliant.
All payments are charged in USD. As the merchant facility is located outside of the United States your bank may charge you an international purchase fee, however to compensate you for this possible charge I apply a discount during the payment process when purchasing more expensive services such as Email Support. In addition, as with any international purchase, if your country's currency is not the same as the merchant's currency (our merchant charges in USD) you may also be charged a currency conversion fee by your bank. We do not charge any processing fees and have no control over the fees your bank may charge you.
Payments for the eBook must be made at the time of purchase. Payments for Email Support services must be made prior to each session. Once the payment is processed you will receive an email receipt.
How will the transaction appear on my bank statement?
For privacy and confidentiality all purchases made on the website will appear on your bank statement as 'JJ International' not 'Should I Have a Baby'.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
eBook: If you are not satisfied with the eBook you can cancel your purchase within the first seven (7) days and you will be issued a refund of 90% of the purchase price. If you choose to cancel your purchase for whatever reason after the first seven (7) days of purchasing the eBook, you are not entitled to receive a refund. If a refund is issued, this may take up to 28 working days to appear and it can only be processed back into the same credit or debit card you used for your payment.
Email Support: If an email support session is cancelled after the service has been purchased but before you (the client) has sent an email reply to the initial support email sent by 'shouldihaveababy.com' 50% of the service cost will be retained as a cancellation fee and you will be refunded the other 50% of the charged price of the purchase. No cancellation or refund will be given once the client has sent an email reply to the initial support email sent by 'Should I Have a Baby.'
How do I gain access to the eBook? And what format is it in?
Once you have purchased the eBook you will automatically be taken to a page on my site where you can download the eBook and start reading it immediately. It is in PDF format, so it can be easily read on any computer or device which has a PDF reader available (most come with a PDF reader but if not, you can download Adobe PDF Reader for free).
If you are having technical issues in downloading the eBook please contact me.
How long does it take to receive an email reply for a Support Session?
Once you have purchased an email support session online you will receive the initial email from me usually within 2 business days and it will include various exercises and questions which will help explain to me your thoughts, feelings and concerns about the issue and your specific situation, and an opportunity to write whatever else you wish to include as well as ask any me any questions. Once you have replied to this email I will then write another email response with my thoughts, feedback and guidance. I make every effort to return support emails within 3 - 5 business days, however, occasionally circumstances beyond my control may arise which would prevent me from doing so. If I am unable to attend our support session (outside of scheduled vacations) due to an unexpected emergency or illness, every attempt will be made to contact you via the email you have provided.
How quickly do I have to reply to a Support Session email?
There is no specific time frame as I want you to take as long as you need to read, think, complete any exercises and write your reply. I want you to take your time and not rush your response so that the process is as effective as possible for you. The nature of email support enables both parties the opportunity to reflect on thoughts, feelings and other reactions to the other person's words. Often, more time is spent reflecting on a given statement by the client and the corresponding response than in face-to-face exchanges, thereby creating more effective responses and more time for the client to process and review the exchanges. Also, the act of writing your thoughts and feelings can be therapeutic in itself (like journalling) and also provides an automatic transcript for you to refer back to if and when you feel you need to.
Will I be expected or pressured to purchase further Email Support Sessions?
No, you are not expected to purchase a certain amount of sessions and you will not be pressured or locked in to doing so. You can add on extra support session if and when it suits you from a link I will provide you during the initial email session, however, there is no pressure to do so, and no restrictive time frame on how and when you can add on.
What does Email Support involve?
With prompts provided by me (questions and exercises) you will take your time to write about yourself, your situation, and your thoughts and feelings about whether to have a baby or not. I will then reply with thoughtful responses and feedback to what you have written. The email support process is designed to help you develop further insights, assist your emotional and mental processing of any issues, and support your progression in the decision-making process. For email support to be the most effective possible you should be willing to reveal honest information about yourself. If you conceal important feelings or information, you will only be disadvantaging yourself (and wasting your money).
It is important that you are aware that there may be both benefits and risks while participating in any form of support. Some of the benefits include: it may improve your ability to relate with others, enhance current relationships, lead to solutions to specific problems and improve feelings of distress, and enable a clearer understanding of yourself, your values and your goals. Since support may also involve discussing unpleasant aspects of your life, you may also experience uncomfortable feelings.
You should also understand email sessions have limitations (as well as benefits) compared to in-person sessions, among those being the lack of “personal” face-to-face interactions, the lack of visual and audio cues (so you may need to work a little harder to convey how you feel), and the fact that most insurance companies will not cover this type of help.
How long does it usually take for people to decide 'Should I Have Kids?'
Unfortunately there is no average time frame to tell you as everybody's situation and decision-making processes are different. For some, it may only take a few days, for others they may need a few years to figure out what they want or make the necessary changes to be ready. However, I have designed the resources on this website to make the process quicker and easier than it would be without any extra support.
Do you guarantee that the Quiz, Email Support or the eBook will help me?
If your situation is very complex, or you have some really tough problems, they may only be one part of the solution for you. With regards to Email Support, if I feel you need more help than I can give you, then I will let you know. For many people a few email support sessions online are enough; but if it becomes obvious to me that it would be more appropriate for you to seek a different form of help, I will be honest and tell you. The eBook is designed to be comprehensive and you will get out of it as much as you put into it. It cannot however cover all possibilities and complexities of all situations. Any helping process is so intricate and individual that unfortunately no guarantees can ever be given with any form of support, however both forms of support are designed to help you as much as possible.
I don't think I can make this decision myself, can you tell me what to do?
Ethically and morally it would be inappropriate for me to make the decision for you. I can support you in the decision-making process and help you discover what you truly want for yourself but in the end you are responsible for your choices and consequent actions and so ultimately it is you that has to make the decision for yourself. Also, please be aware that 'shouldihaveababy.com' is not a medical or health information site. Any queries about medical treatment should be discussed directly with your doctor or heath care professional.
If you have any questions that could not be answered here, please feel free to contact me.
